London, United Kingdom - A local man was left with “no choice” but to resign from his job due to “an intolerable amount of workplace prejudice”.

Mr. I. M. Awful left his position at an estate agency earlier this week after being confronted for his racist views in the break room. During our interview earlier today, he said this was not an isolated case.

“It’s happened several times in the past, and I felt increasingly uncomfortable working in that environment. I brought each case to HR, but there was little sympathy. It really felt like they didn’t care. The exchange on Monday was the last straw.”

We approached the company for comment but have so far received no response.

Generally, there has been a public shift towards tolerance in Western democracies, a trend that worries many in racist communities.

“This is a direct result of a society that still refuses to acknowledge its racist past,” said Samantha Barnes, author of 2018’s Silent Strength: Racist Communities in Imperial Britain. "By attempting to ignore the historical - and contemporary - influence of institutional racism on modern British culture, we allow for altercations like this to arise all to frequently. Acknowledging the issue is the first step, but right now it feels like we've been walking the wrong way up an escalator for years."

However, with recent resurgences in homegrown xenophobic political parties across the Western world, many in this community hope they can one day find their voice again.

"I just want to feel safe to be who I am, openly and proudly. I look forward to the day I can stand hand in hand with my people, unafraid, and watch the illegal immigrants get machine-gunned in the channel."
